Job Summary

Under the direction of the Radiology Manager, performs a variety of MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
Hiring multiple positions and shifts to support the new King of Prussia Hospital opening in October 2021.
Training will take place at the Philadelphia campus.

Job Responsibilities

Performs all MRI techniques and examinations according to the procedures determined by the Radiologists.

  • Maintains constant attention to patients assigned to the technologist for examination 100% of the time
  • Produces optimal MRI images for the purpose of diagnostic interpretation 100% of the time.
  • Selects proper technical factors, coils, restraining devices and operated MRI equipment as directed 100% of the time.
  • Provides protection in accordance with prescribed MR safety standards to ensure the wellbeing of patients, hospital personnel, general public and self while performing any duties 100% of the time.
  • Performs high level exams such as MR urograms, visualase, IBD , deep brain stimulation PET/MR and MR/IR without assistance

Identifies and archive patient s images.
Maintain records of exams.

  • Responsible for proper identification on images including patient identification and patient demographics 100% of the time.
  • Maintains appropriate records of examinations and MRI procedure log 100% of the time.
  • Maintains the integrity and efficiency of the Radiology Information System 100% of the time.

  • Responds promptly and positively to patients, families, associates, and all others in a respectful, courteous and confidential manner.

  • Answers telephone calls within three rings 95% of the time.
  • Respects confidentiality of patients and co-workers in all circumstances 100% of the time.
  • Greets patients, families, co-workers and others in a calm, professional, friendly manner; makes eye contact, initiates conversation, and identifies self by name.
  • Follows hospital and department procedures and policies.
  • Attends mandatory sessions/meetings/in-services 100% of the time.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of CHOP and department policies and procedures.
  • Reviews policy and procedure updates from managers and CHOP

  • Corrects and/or reports unsafe, unsecured or unclean environment to supervisor and/or Environmental, Health and Safety, or Facilities departments.

  • Participates collaboratively in staff meetings, committees, projects and teams to resolve conflicts and meet institutional goals.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) certification by The American Society of Radiologic Technologists within one (1) year of placement into position.

Required Education and Experience

Required Education:
High School Diploma / GED with a certificate of program completion from a Radiology School.

Required
Experience:
Five (5) years of MRI experience

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Knowledge of all forms of MRI Imaging
  • Knowledge of information systems for transferring data
