Visual Information Specialist

Performs duties as the Visual Information Specialist and Website/Social Media Coordinator for Valley Forge National Historical Park. Coordinates and produces traditional and digital communications products including:
original creative and graphic designs, park publications, exhibits, informational signage, digital audio, digital video, digital photography, event-specific publications, and other interpretive materials for and with other park staff and partners. Uses professional design tools, including the Adobe Creative Suite, to produce high-quality content that adheres to NPS Graphic Identity Guidelines, accessibility standards, etc. Works with professional printers, exhibit designers and fabricators to design and produce a variety of specification-dependent products on a variety mediums. Produces and manages digital content on multiple social media platforms including:
Facebook, Twitter, lnstagram, Youtube and Flickr. Maintains the park website using the Content Management System, coordinates CMS use by other park employees, and manages social media platforms in accordance with the VAFO Social Media Policy. Assists with the design, maintenance and operation of various analog and digital A/V systems. Works closely with the park's Public Information Officer to manage internal and external communications and media relations. Drafts and distributes press releases and media advisories. Informs the public/media regarding incidents in the park through a variety of traditional and digital methods such as the Nixle alert system. Manages park information kiosk system in conjunction with other park staff and volunteers. Participates in the planning, operations and management of numerous park events in conjunction with staff, volunteers and park partners. Assists with organizing event planning meetings and distributes meeting notes to committee members. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. To qualify for this position at the GS-9 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal government preparing a variety of visual products for print and the Web based on specific written instructions; producing Web pages and other visual materials using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere); preparing drafts of illustrative materials for the Web which are modeled on previous work or for which the materials and mediums have been pre-selected by a supervisor; and distributing information concerning planning, coordinating, publicizing, and managing special events. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's or higher degree in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take figure out your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required above (for the GS-09). Then, determine your graduate education as a percentage of the education required above (for the GS-09). Only graduate level education beyond the first full academic year (generally considered 18 semester hours) can be used in this calculation. Add the two percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts. To qualify for this position at the GS-7 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level preparing a variety of visual products for print and the Web based on specific written instructions; producing Web pages and other visual materials using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere); preparing drafts of illustrative materials for the Web which are modeled on previous work or for which the materials and mediums have been pre-selected by a supervisor; and distributing information concerning planning, coordinating, publicizing, and managing special events. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least one full academic year of graduate education (18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours or the equivalent) with major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, illustrative design or other directly related field that provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position to be filled. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
