Branch Chief

The successful candidate will manage nuclear materials safety and security inspection and licensing activities for commercial, academic, research and development, and industrial licensees and enforcement casework associated with these inspections. Such duties include but are not limited to:
Supervise and coach a staff of health physicist/inspectors/license reviewers, providing frequent constructive feedback of their performance, and assist in their development. Evaluate and take appropriate action on staff recommendations for licensing action, enforcement action, new or revised license provisions, standards, or other NRC guidelines. Manage the handling of allegations and enforcement involving the tracking of status, recommend follow-up actions, conduct inspections, and support investigations, enforcement conferences or alternate dispute resolution meetings. Develop and implement management controls to measure individual and branch performance and to achieve regional and agency goals. Manage branch emergency response activities as assigned in the Regional Emergency Response Plan. In additional to the basic requirement, to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GG-14) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that demonstrates the potential to provide effective leadership and to assure organizational effectiveness in the areas of work processes and resource and equipment utilization, as well as a thorough knowledge of nuclear materials safety and security inspection and licensing programs, policies, procedures and requirements as it pertains to commercial, industrial, research and development, and academic facilities for the use of nuclear materials.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
