Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist acts on behalf of AmeriGas Field Operations to minimize the cost of acquiring goods and services. The Proc. Specialist handles the day-to-day interaction with vendors, and ensures purchase requests are processed on a timely basis and in accordance with policy. Additionally, this individual will support departmental projects such as strategic sourcing efforts, policy & process reviews, and the maintenance of item & vendor databases.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Management
Act as point of contact for vendors within assigned scope of responsibility
Manage day-to-day relationships with vendors, including any delivery, quality and billing issues
Monitor vendor service levels and address any performance issues
Maintain knowledge regarding assigned commodities
Assist Sr. Procurement Specialist(s) as needed
Field Support
Act as a source of information to AmeriGas field locations for assigned commodities
Coordinate the placement of orders for material and services with approved vendors upon receipt of authorized requisition
Actively manage the Department voice mail system
Coordinate distribution of literature and product information to the Field
Analyze spending patterns and provide key performance criteria
Maintain item information and pricing within e-procurement platform
Support projects to streamline the procurement process within AmeriGas
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Word, and Excel. PeopleSoft experience preferred
Understanding of industrial manufacturing and distributor operations
Basic understanding of legal and commercial laws and procurement tactics
Basic negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Education and Experience Required:
BA/BS Business Administration, Finance or Purchasing with 1-2 years Purchasing experience or equivalent business experience

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
