GSI Commerce Solutions Inc., an eBay company seeks, Database Engineer 3 in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
Job Duties: Responsible for Perform ETL development, participate in design and testing of data integration (ETL/Real Time) components utilizing established ETL tools and coding standards. Perform peer reviews of designs, test results, and code. Perform data analysis with a focus on data quality using data profiling methodologies and tools. Perform defect and problem analysis; make recommendations as required. Define and/or support data model customizations to support data integration/ETL processing. Perform appropriate levels of unit, integration, and performance testing. Support requirements definition and contributes to documentation of project and system documentation. Adhere to established development lifecycle processes and procedures. This position has no direct reports and does not supervise/manage other staff.
Minimum Requirements: Masters degree , or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or Engineering or closely related quantitative discipline and three (3) year of experience in job offered or three (3) years of experience in software or database development and design or Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or Engineering or closely related quantitative discipline and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in software or database development and design.
Special Skill Requirements: Experience must include ETL or Data Integration tool (ie Informatica, DataStage, Talend); Full life-cycle development experience in Data Warehousing and ETL or Data Integration projects; ETL scheduling, restart and recovery and error handling; Data Warehousing 2 years ; Data quality issue resolution; Linux or Unix experience 2 years ; scripting and SVN version control 2 years ; Dimensional (star/snowflake) data modeling concepts; SQL; query optimization; XML; Messaging; Database and Flat files; relational database technologies supporting data warehouses or BI reporting (Netezza and mysql); eCommerce; Autosys for Job scheduling 2 years .
