JOB DUTIES: Define, develop, maintain, and execute test scripts for IT projects and/or maintenance items. Ensure that system requirements are satisfied for internal and external application users. Ensure project testing is complete and testing risks are identified prior to implementation. Manage defects from identification to closure through the Software Life Cycle. Review test scripts and provide feedback to less experienced team players. Execute test plans and test scripts based on planned project schedules and in accordance with QA methodology. Escalate issue to the QA Lead and alert the project team on potential impact to test schedule. Record and track defects uncovered during the execution of tests scripts. Drive defect towards resolution, proposes and designs retest cases, scripts and data. Contribute to the defect management, defect status, root cause and daily triage meeting. Provide timely and accurate status defect information and appropriate metrics to facilitate QA reporting. Report individual status: dashboard information, open issues and risk analysis. Participate in Production Support Testing through rotating on-call responsibilities. Provide consistent and uninterrupted testing service to the organization and minimizes risk of systems down time. Review requirements and specifications and provide input during requirements and specification walkthroughs. Develop and execute SQL queries. Contribute to the development of the test plans and project testing approach. Contribute to the development of project and release Test Plan documents. Contribute to the process of test estimates and project schedules. Participate in test planning, test case design and test script walkthroughs with QA Leads. Actively participates and contributes to the QA design. Assist in the preparation of test estimates and project schedules. Adhere to established standards and methodologies. Utilize tools and methodologies to improve individual effectiveness and to increase efficiencies in the QA process. Develop and sustain appropriate relationship with peers and other project team members. Utilize knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, test engineering methodologies, testing concepts, verification and validation techniques, defect management, quantitative methods, risk management and measurement programs. Utilize knowledge of relational database principals, client/server infrastructure, n-tier architecture concepts, defect tracking, quality principles, testing tools, Sybase, Oracle, programming knowledge, system and technology functions and Web and Middle tier testing. Work in a team environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree, or its foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience in the Job Offered or two (2) years of experience in the field of software engineering OR Bachelors degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience in the Job Offered or four (4) years of experience in the field of software engineering.
SPECIAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Experience must include the following: Microsoft Office suite, test engineering methodologies, testing concepts, verification and validation techniques, defect management, quantitative methods, risk management and measurement programs; relational database principals, client/server infrastructure, n-tier architecture concepts, defect tracking, quality principles, testing tools, Sybase, Oracle, programming knowledge, system and technology functions, Web and Middle tier testing, and e-commerce trends, e-commerce marketing practices, and currency with e-commerce technology. Any suitable combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable. Will accept single degree or any combination of degrees, diplomas, or professional credentials determined to be equivalent by a qualified evaluation service.
