Our client is looking for a technical writer consultant to join our multichannel product team. If you are a self-motivated team player who enjoys collaborating with others, GSI Commerce will be a rewarding place for you.
As a team member for our client, you must have a demonstrated ability to proactively interview and communicate with project SMEs and be comfortable writing for wide-ranging audiences. The ideal candidate must be able to:
Create clear and thorough technical product publications including (but not limited to):
Implementation/installation guides
End user guides
Release notes
Assist with documentation of Feeds/API specifications
Collaborate with existing documentation teams to ensure consistent standards/formats are followed for all deliverables
Work with HTML and online documentation development tools (e.g. wikis, FAQs, Help sections, DocBook).
Help define and implement process improvements and best practices for managing documentation.
Work independently with minimal direction by planning, scheduling, and coordinating work with other team members.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field.
5 years technical writing experience in the software industry.
Highly adept in working with business and technical team members.
Base understanding of web technology and interactions
Working knowledge of MS Office suite
Experience with screen capture and graphics tools.
Competence with Adobe Acrobat and converting documents to PDF.
Strong attention to detail
Self-starter
Desirable requirements:
Familiarity with enterprise class eCommerce and multichannel technology, processes and terminology
Experience with Agile software development cycles
Java
XMLEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
