Business Development and CSR Specialist Job

Situation in Organization This position reports to the Regional Group President Thiochemicals, the position has multiple interactions globally to the Regional and Global R&D Directors, the Global New Business Development Managers, Global Business Directors, and the Global BU leader for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Job Dimensions The position will have two clear and distinct responsibilities for the BU in North America.
The first will be the role of Business Development Leader.
This is a regional responsibility to develop and commercialize the Thiochemicals New Product growth strategy.
This is further clarified as new products (either newly developed or currently under development) for applications either inside existing markets or moving into new markets.
There may be instances, during the course of market development and applications, that opportunities are found for existing products in these new applications - and these will also be pursued or moved to existing commercial personnel.
The second responsibility will be the CSR BU Representative and Leader for Thiochemicals North America related to the customers and markets.
This role will be knowledgeable in the CSR activities ongoing in manufacturing, but not responsible for this facet of Arkema's CSR initiatives.
Key Activities and Responsibilities CSR BU Representative - 60% 1) Promote CSR Culture within the Business Unit - learn, communicate, and train the business personnel on the the Company and BU's strategy and projects so this can be integrated into individual business strategy and business processes.
2) Organize workshops on the different CSR processes, with the aid of the Global BU Leader for Thiochemicals and the Arkema Inc CSR team.
3) Monitor and work with Marketing and business to develop the product/sales offering (action plans and appropriate KPI's) for compliance, circularity and life-cycle analysis, packaging and recycling strategies, low-carbon solutions, and eco-friendly designs for product, packaging, and logistics.
4) Coordinate with France, US, and Thiochemicals BU the process roadmaps for:
-Archimedes - product portfolio monitoring and assessment -Life Cycle Analysis roadmap definition and monitoring of BU portfolio -Scope 3 work - to be defined 5) CSR reviews and KPI reporting; CSR Customer request support and management.
Business Development Leader - 40% 1) Support global New Business Developments of new product introductions to new and existing markets.
2) Work with Global NBD teams out of Paris and Asia to understand market demand, customer potential, and global customer developments and trials.
3) Defines regional strategy for product introductions and coordinates laboratory and industrial trials of new products at potential customers.
4) Works with local and global R&D teams to provide feedback on product introductions and feedback from markets to finalize product specifications for optimized performance.
5) Develop market intelligence and provide feedback to global teams regarding technology developments and opportunities in the marketplace for Thiochemicals.
6) Identify partners or acquisitions that would aid in Thiochemicals pursuit of growth from Business Development which may include expansion of portfolio.
7) Support Patent and IP strategies related to NBD, including assessment of patent applications in target markets to explore technology opportunities.
Context & Environment Travel should be considered moderate, with trips regionally to understand key opportunities at develop partners, trade shows.
2-3 trips per year to France, with the potential of limited Asian travel.
Expected travel 35%.
Extensive work on collaborative selling techniques to explore opportunities.
Required Education/Qualifications/Work Experience Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related Technical field.
Minimum of 3 years in marketing or business development in a technical role Commercial development and experience with project gate systems a plus Good interpersonal skills and presentation skills to both clients and large audiences a plus Computer knowledge of Microsoft suite is mandatory Demonstrated Competencies Ability to drive a project/concept from feasibility through commercialization Ability to investigate and develop appropriate market intelligence for specific applications Strong ability to probe markets and customers for key information and needs to identify market opportunities.
