Job Description The Senior Scientist Actively develop new technologies for the purification of plasma proteins. Responsible for driving innovation and development of novel technologies in all aspects of therapeutic protein purification. Identify new opportunities for collaborations with external partners, serving as co-author on research proposals and actively evaluating technologies as part of Joint Research Committees. Be technical expert in developing purification processes, analytical methods, and technical information as necessary to develop new technologies. Serves as study director for development and screening of novel technologies, designs and executes experiments in the laboratory. Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Responsible for leading structured brainstorming and ideation sessions and vetting of ideas submitted by the team Act as a technical resource/mentor for the group in their field of expertise, by tracking technological/scientific developments in their area of expertise and implementing new methods to apply the new developments for maximum internal gain. Responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of documentation and communication through timely and thorough drafting and execution of protocols and reports in support of new processes. Report results in a timely manner to site/global management. Responsible for coordinating scientific and investigative studies through collaboration with internal customers, global R & D sites, academic research organizations, contract laboratories, etc., and think creatively and provide technical justification for novel concepts and approaches. Responsible for performing fundamental literature and patent searches related to activities and develop alternative strategies. Collaborate with Patents and Licenses Department to determine freedom to operate capabilities and novelty of discoveries. Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Education:
Combination of Education and appropriate experience, such as BS/BA
8 years, MS/MA +5 years, or Ph.D. +3 years needed to establish a strong background and knowledge base.
Experience:
Recognition and achievements in product research, process development/improvement, protein purification, bioanalytical techniques, and innovation. Proven history of innovation/invention Competencies:
Proven organizational and interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication skills. Leadership. Cross cultural sensitivity and efficient use of networking. $100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
